Our Team
Bernice returns to us after 8 years after she found out that she was working at the best orthodontic office in the first place!
She chose Dr. Dick Carter for her own orthodontics. Her natural instincts towards organization and cleanliness have served her (and us!) very well.
She has 20 years of assisting experience, and most recently was a part of an orthodontic practice consulting business.
Bernice is raising 2 teenagers (which deserves a medal!) Jessica and Nolan. She enjoys cooking and baking, and often shares her wonderful baked goodies with those around her (hopefully us!).
Erin comes to us from REI, where she did human resources, systems administration, customer service, and problem solving.
Wow! A lot of everything. She has a degrees in physics and chemistry from Willamette University, and worked as a laser engineer for over 5 years.
She loves sea kayaking, scuba diving and cooking. Erin is not only joining our practice, she will also soon be joining the Biermann clan as Dr. Matthew Biermann's wife.
Marilyn has 24 years experience as a communications specialist in orthodontics. She has had orthodontic treatment herself, by Dick, and was our first patient to have clear braces...in 1973!
She has extensive education in orthodontics, orthognathic and temporomandibular surgery, and has lectured with Dick in many cities of the world. She can answer virtually any question about orthodontic treatment.
She has traveled around the world, from Tokyo to Tahiti, from Cairo to Cancun, from Paris to Philadelphia, from Venice to Vallarta. In 1988, she was the first woman to ever stand on Tien An Men tower in Beijing, where only (male) emperors or Communist Party leaders had previously been allowed.
As a licensed private pilot, many of her travels have been in a light plane. Marilyn's avocation is cooking; she is an expert French and Italian chef, and enjoys learning new recipes and new presentations. Bon appetit!
